He said at a time when the country is battling the deadly Ebola virus, a major priority of the national government should be ensuring that hospitals across the country remain open and health workers return to work.

He told journalists at the weekend in Gbarnga that addressing health workers’ concerns will also help remove the psychological trauma they suffered as a result of the death of their colleagues and motivate them to return to work.
“Ebola is deadly, one inch into you, you are finished. Working in an Ebola Center to some extent stigmatizes a person. It is like going to war and such venture must be done with some level of assurance which comes through motivation,” Senator Yallah noted.
He said not all deaths are Ebola-related, noting that because of the lack of access to healthcare, many people are dying from otherwise curable diseases, a situation, he observed, must be addressed urgently.
Meanwhile, Senator Yallah has disclosed that the county has resolved to allot US$50,000 from the County Development Fund to support of the fight against the Ebola disease.
He said the money will be used for sensitization in the county, as well as purchase of some protective equipment, motivational packages to Ebola taskforces, community radio stations and the county health team.
He added that portion of the money will also to renovation of the holding and testing center and nurses’ quarters, among others.
