The Gardnersville Youth for Progress and Development (GYPD) launched the campaign Saturday in the township.
Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency shortly after the launch, GYPD Chairman Patrick Doe said his group decided to undertake the initiative to buttress the effort of government and its partners in preventing the spread of the disease.
He said the youths felt obliged to spread the preventive message because people have failed to adhere to the measures outlined by the Health Ministry and its partners, resulting to the deaths of scores of Liberians, including health workers.
Mr. Doe said his group is committed to encouraging people, especially residents of the Township of Gardnersville, to adhere to preventive measures to save the community from widespread infection.
He said every Liberian, despite status, must assume responsibility for ensuring that the deadly Ebola virus is completely eliminated.
