“We are the major generals in this battle,” the Pro-Tempore told his colleagues in regular session Tuesday.

Findley said as direct representatives of the people and custodians of their views, holding back and watching the Executive Branch and the National Ebola Task Force battle the disease would not augur well for their constituents and could create blame games.

According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), the President Pro-Tempore made the plea when he addressed concerns raised by several senators that the impact of the Task Force in the Ebola fight was not being felt at the level of their various counties, and that their constituents have been blaming them for the spread of the disease.

Findley said the Senate’s role in the fight against Ebola is not about individual choices, but rather about making decisions to put aside blame games and differences, and join the race to kick the virus out of the country.

“Hon. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Senate, I know how you feel but we must fight this together, because it is not about money or allocations, it is about us and the people we represent,” he added.
