According to Dr. Logan, the latest victim is a female who died Monday, bringing to 46 the number of Ebola-related deaths in Bomi County since the outbreak of the disease in the country in March.
Speaking in an interview on UNMIL radio Monday monitored by the Liberia News Agency, Logan said the woman was early this month suspected of contracting the virus and was being monitored at home by health workers.
He said the woman was then taken to an unknown destination by her relatives without the knowledge of health workers who had been checking on her periodically.
“However, they finally brought her back in a worse condition and she died this morning,” he added.
