“We have begun taking our campaign to beauty salons, shops, markets and other places in and around Monrovia,” said NTUPAW Secretary General Tye K. Jaye.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency at his Lynch Street office at the weekend, Jaye pointed out that from their own assessment, many people in the country still doubt the existence of the virus.

He lamented that despite the huge awareness campaign being conducted by the government and partners, some Liberians are still steep in denial about the existence of the virus.

Mr. Jaye said the Ebola virus has spread to several counties in Liberia because people are refusing to adhere to the preventive measures outlined by the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, Mr. Jaye has commended the Liberian Government for the determined fight against the spread of the Ebola disease, noting that that they were joining the Ebola campaign to buttress the effort of national government.

He, however, indicated that his organization is in dire need of Ebola prevention materials to be distributed to hair dressers, barbers, shop owners, and others who receive customers on a daily basis.
