KAKATA, August 25 (LINA) -The United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) has donated a consignment of assorted medical supplies to the Charles Henry Rennie Memorial Hospital in Kakata, Margibi County.

Making the donation over the weekend, UNFPA Liberia Reproductive Health Field Assistant, Mr. Lincoln Morris, said the UN agency was delighted to donate some basic reproductive health tool kits to the hospital.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Mr. Morris said items donated include essential sanitary materials, reproductive health tool kits for child bearing mothers, among others.

Also speaking on behalf of UNFPA, the Communication and Advocacy Officer, Calixte Hassou said Bong and Montserrado counties will benefit from similar donations.

Receiving the items, the Acting Margibi County Health Officer, Dr. Adolphus Yeiah, thanked UNFPA for the donation at a time when the County was in a dire need of essential medical supplies to open health facilities to the public.

He noted that the donation came at the time when the morale of health workers in the county was at its lowest and public health facilities in Margibi County were all closed, apart from the Firestone and Salala Rubber Corporation hospitals.
