According to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), the donation was made by the association’s representative in Liberia, Mr. Abass Kamara, and the County Assistant Superintendent for Development, Tenneh Simpson Kpedebah.

They said the association has decided to identify with citizens of Grand Cape Mount County during the Ebola pandemic that is claiming lives in the country.

Mosques, churches and health centers in the county's four districts of Gola Konneh, Porkpa, Garwula, Tewor and Commonwealth will benefit from the donation.

Madame Kpedebah and Mr. Kamara named items donated as 45 bags of rice, 55 buckets,10 cartons of Clorox, soap and hand sanitizers, among others.

They called on the recipients to adhere to the Ebola prevention measures introduced by the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare to halt the spread of the disease and save lives.

They said the donation is an initial contribution towards the fight against the spread of the deadly virus.

Speaking on behalf of the recipients, the Imam of the Mano River Kongo Central Mosque, Alhiji Jiedi, Rev. Julie Sonpon of the Christian community and a representative of the health workers, Garmai Beyan, expressed appreciation to the association for the gesture.

They noted that the group is the first to identify with them since the outbreak of the virus.
