Senator Tengbeh said it was regrettable that people still doubt the existence of the disease despite the huge publicity being carried out by health authorities and international partners.
According to the Liberia News Agency, the Lofa County lawmaker made the statement Saturday at his Capitol building office in Monrovia in an interview with reporters.
He is, meanwhile, calling on Liberians to do everything within their power to ensure that the deadly Ebola disease is eradicated from the country by adhering to the preventive measures.
He is also reminding Liberians that government alone cannot contain the spread of the disease, as evidenced by its gradual entry into other unaffected parts of the country.
Tengben is therefore calling on government to turn the Ebola war over to international partners who have the know-how to effectively fight the disease, and hoped Liberians will not see this as undermining the independence of the country.
