MONROVIA, September 4 (LINA) – Information Minister Lewis G. Brown is calling on all Liberians to imagine what will happen to the country after the deadly Ebola virus has been kicked of the country.

He said it was important that everyone works with the government hands-on-deck as the virus has impacted the economy in a way that is affecting the livelihood and well-being of the citizenry.

Minister Brown made the call during the daily Ebola update press conference held at the Ministry of Information on Wednesday.

He added that the closure of some businesses and the public sector investment programs like road networks, energy and Information, Communication Technology (ICT) that have literally ground to a halt are some of the direct impacts of the outbreak and spread of the virus.

He explained that the government at this time needs every Liberian to get on board as it shifts its focus on the period when the disease shall have been eradicated from the country.

He stressed that as government emphasis is still on the eradication of the disease, it has to prepare itself for the future because at that point, the citizens will need to return to normal life and business as usual.

“Even now, we are very concerned about the livelihood of our people, the continuous operation of businesses, and how everyone can be able to effectively and efficiently take care of their families”, the Minister concluded.
