Maryland County Youth Representative Thomas Appleton said education was one of the imperatives youths must pursue if they are to be qualified to fill the gaps that current leaders will leave behind when they retire.  

Appleton made the statement when SIFCA, the parent company of Cavalla Rubber Corporation (CRC) and the Maryland Oil Palm Plantation in Pleebo, Maryland County, donated assorted equipment to the newly-dedicated Youth Center in Pleebo Friday.

The items include one 5kva generator, one 32” flat screen television and 25 pieces of plastic chairs, among others.

He lauded the companies for the donation and assured that the items will be used for the intended purpose.
