The report said cumulative cases of Nigeria and Senegal which are now rated as previously affected countries, are also part of the 14,098 cases which bring the WHO’s cumulative report to a total of eight countries covered so far.

The WHO situation report also shows that the cumulative death in the eight countries as of November 9 stands at 5,160.

The report was issued in Monrovia at the weekend during a meeting of the Liberian media on its role in the Ebola fight sponsored by  IREX, an International NGO,  with  the support of  USAID, Center for Media Studies and Peace building, and Carter Center. 

Cumulative cases or deaths are the combination of suspected, probable and confirmed Ebola cases or deaths as recorded, the report said.

It noted that Liberia accounts for 6,822 cumulative cases, with 2,836 deaths, while Guinea accounts for 1,878 cumulative cases and 1,142 deaths, Sierra Leone has a cumulative case load of 5,368 with total deaths being 1,169,and Mali has a cumulative case load of four with four resultant deaths.

The United States accounts for four cumulative cases with one death, while Spain accounts for only one case and no death. All patients in the USA have been discharged from hospital, the report says.

Nigeria, according to the report, accounted for 20 cumulative cases with eight deaths, while Senegal which is on the list of previously affected countries accounted for  only one case with no reported death.
