MONROVIA, November 19 (LINA) - The Managing Director of the Liberia Medical and Product Regulatory Authority, David Sumo, has called on Liberians to use accurate measurement to chlorinate their water sources.

Sumo noted that if water sources such as wells and hand pumps as well as water used to wash hands are not chlorinated in accordance with standard procedure, it will  lead to chlorine poisoning.

He made the statement Tuesday at the Ministry of Information Ebola
daily press conference in Monrovia.

He said when overly chlorinated water is drunk or used to wash the skin, it leads to chlorine poisoning, a sickness that has similar symptoms like Ebola.

Sumo wants Liberians to seek advice from qualified medical experts regarding the preparation of chlorine solutions to prevent potential harm.
