ZWEDRU, November 19 (LINA) - Grand Gedeh County Inspector Josephus Garley says the Ebola outbreak in River Cess County has placed residents of Gboe Community, Gbarzon District in Grand Gedeh in a vulnerable state.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency on Wednesday in Zwedru, Garley said the recent outbreak of the virus at Gold Camp in River Cess poses serious threat to the people of Gboe as the two areas share a common boundary.

Garley, accompanied by the county acting Ebola Taskforce chair Bishop Abraham T. Gbeway, is heading a five-man delegation on a 12-day Ebola assessment tour of Gboe after appeals from its Administrative Commissioner Joseph Zibay for massive Ebola awareness in Gboe.

Garley noted that serious attention should be paid to the area as there is no health facility to cope with any eventuality and urged the health team to be prepared for effective response in case of an outbreak in the area.

Gboe is situated in a remote area northwest of Zwedru and shares common boundaries with Sinoe, Nimba and River Cess counties.
