MONROVIA, November 26 (LINA) -President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has stressed the need for Liberians to ensure that the Ebola virus is eradicated from the country for full resumption of normal activities.

President Sirleaf made the statement Wednesday when she paid an acquaintance visit to the Unity Conference Center (UCC) Ebola Treatment Unit in Virginia and the Island Clinic Ebola Treatment Unit in the Twe Farm Community outside Monrovia.

She extolled health workers at the two ETUs for their commitment in fighting the Ebola virus in Liberia.

According to the Liberia News Agency, she noted that although it is difficult working with such a disease, the health workers are “doing extremely well in tackling it,” adding, “Thank you very much for serving your country.”

President Sirleaf assured that the government through the Ministry of Health will tackle challenges confronting the two units to make them more functional and operational.

In remarks earlier, the head doctor at the UCC ETU, Jonathan Hart, informed President Sirleaf that the Unit lacks an ambulance and operational vehicles as well as uniforms.
