VOINJAMA, November 27 (LINA) - Local chiefs in Voinjama District have launched a massive Ebola awareness and sensitization campaign in the district.

The exercise comes barely a week after the holding of a two-day Ebola awareness and sensitization workshop for chiefs and commissioners by the Carter Center in Voinjama City, Lofa County.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in Voinjama Thursday, the General Town Chief of Lower and Upper Workor in Voinjama District, Wolobah Dorbor, disclosed that the exercise is currently taking place in four towns, including Zenalormai, Lazelemai, Lawalazu and Jallamai.

Chief Dorbor said the exercise will take place simultaneously in every town and village in Voinjama District.

He indicated that the campaign is in fulfillment of the recent assurance given citizens that they as local leaders will continue to strengthen their involvement in the fight against Ebola in the county.

Meanwhile, Chief Dorbor is calling on youth groups in the district to join the local leaders in creating more Ebola awareness and sensitization across the entire county.
