VOINJAMA, December 15 (LINA)-The Red Cross, Lofa chapter, has conducted a two-day Ebola awareness workshop for Correction Officers and inmates of the Voinjama Central Prison in Lofa County.

Speaking Saturday at the end of the workshop held in the compound of the Voinjama Central Prison, Madam Sarah Kollie of ICRC and facilitator of the workshop, said it was intended to educate correction officers and inmates about the danger and prevention of the deadly Ebola virus at the prison.

Also speaking at the end of the workshop, the Voinjama Prison Superintendent, Major Flomo Johnson, commended ICRC for the Ebola awareness workshop and promised that the knowledge gained would be put into practice by both Correction Officers and the inmates.

According to the Liberia News Agency, the workshop which began Friday and ended Saturday, brought together all correction officers and the Prison Superintendent of the Voinjama Central Prison, as well as more than 27 inmates.
