She said without support from government and NGOs it will be difficult to cater to the well-being of the orphans, especially providing their basic necessities and sponsoring them in school.

Cooper made the appeal at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference held at the ministry in Monrovia on Monday.

WPWCCC was established during the heat of the country’s health crisis to provide care for people struggling with treatable illnesses and to conduct Ebola awareness campaigns.

Cooper said due to the death of over 105 people from the West Point community since the Ebola outbreak, an outreach program to provide support for orphans was initiated.

She noted that through support from some local organizations the orphans are being provided food, clothing and toys during this Christmas season.

The head of WPWCCC is also appealing to West Pointers to be a part of the community’s initiative by providing support to the orphans during and after the Ebola crisis.
