Superintendent Dunor reminded citizens of the district that high cases of Ebola were still being reported in neighboring Sierra Leone and Guinea.
He point out that despite the many interventions by health workers, government and partners and also the collaborative efforts of citizens in the fight against Ebola, the citizens need to be mindful and continue to follow the preventive measures outlined by health authorities.
According to the Liberia News Agency, Superintendent Dunor made the call at the weekend in Vezala Town, the administrative seat of Voinjama District during a one-day visit to commend local chiefs and elders of Lower and Upper Workor for their role in the fight against the Ebola virus.
The Lofa County boss assured the citizens of Voinjama District that they can buttress the efforts of government and partners to totally eradicate Ebola out of Lofa, if they follow the preventive measures of avoiding body contacts, public gatherings and monitoring the various entry points between Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea to prevent illegal entry, despite the close ties Liberia has with these countries.
Dunor is meanwhile commending local and district authorities for creating Ebola awareness and sensitization, noting that this has helped to contain the deadly virus in the district thus far.
