TUBMANBURG, January 6 (LINA) - Bomi County Health Officer (CHO), Dr. Gabriel Gorbee Logan has called for increment in the next county health budget to improve major local health facilities.

Logan indicated that the current US$100,000 in the county’s budget was insufficient to solve some of the major problems facing hospitals and other health centers in the county.

According to him, the decision-makers should see reason to increase the budget of various county health teams (CHTs) to ensure that they adequately maintain major health facilities in the counties.

Speaking to a team of journalists in Tubmanburg over the weekend, Dr. Logan said budget increment will address the lack of basic equipment and other facilities to enable doctors and nurses work effectively.

When questioned about the status of the Ebola virus in the county, Dr. Logan said infection has dropped considerably and that he is looking forward to seeing the virus kicked-out of the county.

“We are also seeking the interventions of the international community to help us eradicate the virus from Bomi County once and for all as we enter the New Year,” said Dr. Logan.
