MONROVIA, November 9 (LINA) - The Monrovia City Court at the Temple of Justice has granted a criminal appearance bond to six partisans of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) and ordered their release from further detention at the Monrovia Central Prison.

Mulbah Morlu, Habbaku Wonmel, Sekou K. Jomandy, Sekou Kalassco, Clifford Reeves, and Alvin Snawulu are facing charges of Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping and Criminal Coercion.

The six defendants were recently arrested by the Liberia National Police (LNP) for their alleged role in the forceful abduction and injury of Gbesalifo Montgomery, a member of CDC, at the party’s headquarters.

During police investigation the six denied their alleged involvement in the flogging of Montgomery.

Magistrate Joseph Harris, after leaving chambers with both prosecution and defense counsels, Friday granted the bond.
