Gray noted that this was necessary to enable Liberia succeed in the fight against the trafficking and use of narcotic and other dangerous substances.
The District #8 lawmaker made the statement Monday in Monrovia when he appeared on the SKY Communications talk show “Just Another Day”.
Gray pointed out that the use of drugs is having serious effect on many Liberians, especially young people, and emphasized the need for concrete action to curtail the situation.
He then pledged to work with his colleagues after their annual Agriculture Break to ensure that the current Drugs Law is reformed in the interest of the country and its people.
Police Inspector General Chris Massaquoi told a news conference late Sunday that a Police Highway Patrol team headed by Patrolman Jallah Japolo arrested an officer of the Police Support Unit (PSU), Sawon S. Doe, with 145kg of marijuana with the street value of L$996,000.
Inspector General Massaquoi explained that the police highway patrol team intercepted a black Nissan X-Terra, Plate # NG-2143, which was operated by PSU officer Doe and conducted a search that led to the discovery of the marijuana.
