The LNFS Director of Public Affairs Colonel Jassah Garyah told the Liberia News Agency in an interview Monday that one of the three trucks is deployed to Buchanan City, Grand Bassa County.
Col. Garyah confirmed a recent Liberia News Agency report that fire-fighters in the Western County of Bomi have resorted to using buckets to put off fires, owing to the lack of equipment.
The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS), Bomi County Detachment Commander, Lt. Col. Shaika Dukuly, told the Liberia News Agency that residents often join the fire-fighters to combat fire outbreaks.
Col. Garyah noted that this situation obtains in nearly all the 15 political sub-divisions of the country.
The official said LNFS will embark on a nation-wide awareness and sensitization campaign on fire prevention.
