GBARNGA, Feb 22, (LINA) - As the moratorium on the sale of public land remains in force, the Land Commissioner of Bong County, Mr. C. Fahnlon King, has emphasized the need for citizens to exercise restraint in the acquisition of public land.

Mr. King told the Liberia News Agency Friday that unless the commission is given time to revisit existing policies and carve workable ones that will govern the sale of land in the country, disputes over land ownership will persist.

He said, even while citizens continue their quest to acquire portion of government Land, the people of Bong County continue to be peaceful, crediting the timely intervention of the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and authorities of the county in handling disputes inherited by his office.

Meanwhile, Mr. King has alarmed that his office is understaffed and that it lacks a vehicle to convey staff to assigned duties around the county.
