The early Friday waves swept 11 houses off their foundation in the Popo Beach, Fundaye, Colonel West and Lagoon communities, leaving affected residents to seek new abode.
In an interview with the Liberia News Agency, Slewion Konto Freeman, Secretary to the Governor of the Borough, said the erosion is now threatening the lives of the people, who mostly depend on the sea for survival.
Konto also said that the governor is in touch with the national government over the matter, but noted it would be too difficult to resist the sea as a community alone.
