Confusion erupted between Representatives Munah Pelham and William Dakel of Montserrado County in the middle of a deliberation on an issue raised by Representative Gabriel Nyanka concerning the appearance of Health Ministry authorities before the Lower House to provide an update on the Ebola Virus in the country.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Pelham told Plenary that a delegation which should have come from the United States as her guests cancelled their trip due to the Ebola Virus outbreak in Liberia in March.

Dakel then interrupted and called Pelham to order because, according to him, she was reckless in her deliberation.

Representative Dakel’s remarks did not go down well with Pelham who immediately responded and described his utterances as “nonsense.”

Plenary could not continue with the deliberation as a result of the heated argument which lasted for about five minutes, prompting the lawmakers to resort to Executive Session.

Dakel and Pelham still continued their argument that became uncontrollable and disruptive of the Session, leaving Presiding Officer Karmo no alternative but to order the Sergeant-At-Arms to escort the lawmakers out of session.
