VOINJAMA, June 5 (LINA) - Forty organizations of farmers in Salayea, Zorzor and Voinjama Districts in Lofa County are expected to shortly benefit from an Agriculture Infrastructure Development Project.

According to the head of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Lofa County, Mr. J. Kanie Merfee, the UN agency is presently in the county to assess the capacity of these farmer bodies in terms of organization and management structure.

In an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Voinjama City recently, Mr. Merfee pointed out that the aim of the project is to strengthen the farmer groups in their value chain activities.

He said the project will focus on cassava, vegetable and swamp rice production, noting that farmers will be expected to take the market by storm.
