MONROVIA, June 17 (LINA) -The World Bank Liberia Country Manager has reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to assist Liberia in achieving its development objectives embedded in the Agenda for Transformation.

Speaking at the inauguration of the bank’s new offices in Monrovia Monday, Madam Inguma Dobraja observed that over the past several years the bank has seen strong growth in the size and depth of their program in Liberia.

She said this growth was foreseen after the country’s successful completion of the HIPC process in 2010, stressing that the expansion of their programs has also meant an increasing demand for more and better quality office space to accommodate additional staff on the ground.

Also speaking at the program, the World Bank Country Director for Liberia, Ghana and Sierra Leone, Dr.Yasupha Crookes, expressed the World Bank’s commitment to continually work closely with the Liberian Government in the successful implementation of the Bank’s Country partnership strategy for Liberia’s fiscal years 2013-2017, which was designed together with the Government to support the country’s Agenda for Transformation.

The newly renovated offices are located in the Compound of the former German Embassy in the Monrovia suburb of Congo Town.
