According to the report , the virus has claimed the life of a women in her 40s at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama City.
Madam Christina Fayah, 45, was among nine suspected Ebola cases at the hospital of which six have been confirmed.
The other victims have been quarantined.
Making the disclosure Tuesday at an Ebola Coordination Update Meeting in Voinjama, the Community Health Department Director Edmund Esiah said the remaining three were all suspected cases awaiting laboratory tests.
According to the Liberia News Agency, Mr. Esiah also disclosed that since the outbreak of the virus, eight persons, including Christina Fayah, have died so far in Lofa, with one death in Voinjama and the remaining seven in Foya district.
He also told participants at the meeting that about 30 health workers assigned at the Tellewoyan Memorial Hospital in Voinjama who came into body contact with Christina Fayah were suspected of the virus and needed urgent attention.
Mr. Esiah asserted that the recent outbreak of the virus in Voinjama was very alarming and needed urgent attention.
He stressed the need for concerted efforts to prevent the spread of the virus to other parts of the county.
Mr. Esiah has meanwhile appealed to government through the Ministry of Health, national and international organizations to help the County Health Team with logistics to help fight the disease.
He said if this is not urgently done it could pose serious threat to health in the county.
