Defendant Dahn was on January 4, 2013 arrested and charged by police in Monrovia for killing one Antoinette Peterson in a compound on 12th Street in Sinkor, where an UNMIL officer only identified as Bornfree Avelee resided.

According to the Liberia News Agency, the Jurors said on Monday that after careful scrutiny of the evidence adduced at the trial, they unanimously agree that defendant Dahn was guilty of committing the crime of murder.

Both defense and prosecution counsels were given 45 minutes each by the court for their final arguments which were noted.

Meanwhile, the Defense team has described the verdict as erroneous and given notice to the court that it will take advantage of the law, noting that the verdict was totally illegal, considering the evidence produced.

Presiding Judge A. Blamo Dixon told the more than 100 spectators who had gathered at the court for the jurors’ verdict that final judgment and sentencing is assigned for Monday, June30.

Judge Dixon said since the counsels and the defendant were present in court, the minutes of the court shall serve as a valid and regular notice of the assignment.
