Eight-Man Body To Carve Bong Development Agenda

GBARNGA, June 25 (LINA) - Bong County authorities have constituted an eight member committee to develop the County Development Agenda for the period 2014-2018, an official of the county has disclosed.

Bong County Development Superintendent Anthony Sheriff told the Liberia News Agency Wednesday that the decision is based on a mandate contained in a letter from Internal Affairs Minister Morris Dukuly.

The letter dated Tuesday, June 10, 2014, said upon the directive of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf the revise and updated County Development Agenda should be submitted in soft and hard copies by June 30, 2014 to the minister’s office.

The communication further calls for the conduct of a countywide consultation to update and revise the County Development Agenda for the period 2014-2018 respectively.

It says following the completion of these exercises at the county level, Superintendents, Development Officers and Project Planners will at a two-day retreat in the first week of July 2014 review and validate to finalize the Country’s Development Agenda for 2014-2018.

In keeping with the county's 2008-2012 Development Agenda, the newly constituted Technical Committee will reflect on challenges and achievements made in the realization of projects in Roads, Health and Education and forward same to form part of plans for 2014-2018 Development Agenda of the republic.
