MONROVIA, July 13(LINA) –Internal Affairs Minister Morris M. Dukuly has said that the rebuilding of Liberia requires the concerted efforts of all Liberians. He said it also requires committed partners and adequate resources to speed up the rebuilding process, adding that President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, despite many challenges, has put in place institutions to promote the rebuilding efforts.

According to the Liberia News Agency, Mr. Dukuly's statement was contained in his keynote address at the program marking the formal closing of the Performance Management System and Strategic Leadership Development for Liberia Public Service program conducted by the Kenya School of Government (KSG) and the Liberia Institute for Public Administration.

The program was held Friday in the auditorium of the state-run University of Liberia main campus on Capitol Hill, in Monrovia.

In the statement read by his administrative Assistant Jefferson Cooper, the minister admonished the participants to go out and prove themselves worthy of the education acquired.

He said post-conflict Liberia faces two challenges, which are capacity- building and the changing environment, and encouraged the graduates to bring about radical change in the work environment.

“You can utilize the training you acquired from the LIPA to help the Liberian Government achieve the much needed human capacity in order to achieve efficiency and productivity in our Ministries and Agencies,” Dukuly noted.

For his part, LIPA Director General Oblayon Nyemah commended the Kenya School of Government (KSG) for their successful collaboration in the conduct
of the training of Public Servants in Performance Management System and strategic leadership and development in Liberia.

He said that LIPA will endeavor to provide capacity building for public servants through local and international partners to help improve the performance of senior staff in government.

Meanwhile, a participant at the training program, Mr. Moses P. Roberts
has lauded LIPA for organizing the six-month training program which, he pointed out, will benefit participants immensely.

Mr. Roberts appealed to LIPA to extend the program to public service employees assigned in rural Liberia who are not privileged to benefit from training opportunities.
