MONROVIA, July 14 (LINA) – The Presiding Judge of Criminal Court “C” at the Temple of Justice, Judge Yusuf Kaba, has denied a motion to suppress evidence in a drug trafficking case.

The motion was filed by Atty. Arthur Johnson, lawyer representing the five defendants.

Atty. Johnson told the court Monday not to accept some of the evidence produced by the prosecution, especially the statement taken by the investigators at the Drug Enforcement Agency.

He said the five defendants are on trial for allegedly trafficking narcotic drugs along the Liberia-Sierra Lelone border on November 13, 2013 in Tienni, Grand Cape Mount County.

However, Judge Kaba rejected the motion filed by the defense team, noting that the case had been heard by the jury that has the responsibility to determine the facts in the case.

Meanwhile, the case has been adjourned to resume on Wednesday, July 16, when the defendants will take the stand to testify on their own behalf.
