VOINJAMA, July 20 (LINA) -Residents of Zango Town in Zogolemai Township in Voinjama District, Lofa County are appealing to the Government through the Ministry of Health and Lofa County authorities to help construct hand pumps in the town.

The residents said the lack of safe drinking water in the town was also contributing to illnesses occurring in their town in recent times.
Speaking recently to health authorities and Lofa County Superintendent George Dunor, the residents disclosed that since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in their town, many of their residents are getting sick and dying.
The Secretary of Zango Town, Kezelee Johnson, named 19 residents who have died since the outbreak of the Ebola virus in the town.
He said many residents are fleeing the town for fear of contracting the Ebola virus.
According to the Liberia News Agency, Mr. Johnson also told authorities that their sick residents were being smuggled by family members to neighboring towns where some remain and die.
He is also appealing to the Health Ministry and County Authorities to urgently assign health workers to the town to sensitize the residents in taking preventive measures against the Ebola virus.
Zango Town, which had the population of over 1,500 residents, has now reduced to 575 residents as a result of residents fleeing for fear of the wave of illnesses and death in the town, an elder told LINA.
