Defense Official Bags Master’s In Military Science

MONROVIA, July 23 (LINA) - Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs David K. Dahn earned a Master’s degree in Military Science from the National Defense University of the People’s Liberation Army in Beijing, China.

According to a Defense Ministry release issued here Wednesday, Assistant Minister Dahn delivered his dissertation on: “The Impact of Globalization on State’s Sovereignty: A Case Study of Liberia.” 

Coupled with a Master’s in Military Science, Dahn also received an Advanced Diploma in Defense and Strategic Studies from the College of Defense Studies, National Defense University; and Advanced Diploma in Strategic Leadership, Tsinghua University (School of Public Policy & Management).

The press release said for scholarly works, Minister Dahn received honors certificates from the Academic Research Department of the National Defense University.

Also, the College of Defense Studies certificated the Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs for enviable research on “China’s Non-intervention Principle And Its International Implications”.

The studies ran from September 1, 2013 to July 15, 2014. 

Prior to these attainments, Dahn earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communications and Political Science from the University of Liberia and several other local and international certificates in Public Relations, Human Rights, Peace and Security from the Kingdom of Columbia, Kingdom of Sweden, Ghana, and others.

In 2007, Dahn started his Civil Service career as Senior Administrative Officer at the Ministry of National Defense.

Later, he was promoted to the position of Public Affairs Officer and subsequently Director of Public Affairs.

In 2010, President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf appointed Dahn as Assistant Defense Minister for Public Affairs.

Assistant Minister Dahn is also a distinguished graduate of the Security Sector Reform Training Program conducted by the United States DynCorp International.

 “I have come with the complete readiness to contribute my quota professionally to the forward march of the Ministry of National Defense, especially in espousing, articulating and disseminating the visions of the Ministry of National Defense / Armed Forces of Liberia,” Dahn said.
