MONROVIA, July 23 (LINA) -The Liberia National Fire Service (LNFS) has reported 11 fire incidences in Monrovia in the month of June, with 72 persons affected and US$ 47,450 worth of property destroyed.

In its report, the NFS said this month (July), nine fire incidences have occurred so far in Monrovia and surrounding areas, with one death and thousands of dollars worth of property destroyed.

The LNFS Director of Communication, Col. Jassah  N. Ganyan made the disclosure in an interview Tuesday with the Liberia News Agency at her office in Monrovia.

She said the fires were caused by candles, illegal connection of electric wires and storage of gasoline in homes, and warned against such practices to avoid more fire outbreaks.
