Madam Matilda Wiah, a mother of 7, said the decision is in the right direction as it will go a long way in containing the Ebola Virus.
Madam Wiah who is a Traditional Mid-wife made the commendation Monday in an interview with the Liberia News Agency (LINA) in Gardnerville, outside Monrovia.
She however noted that had government put these measures in place from the initial stage of the outbreak of the disease, the spread of the Virus would have been prevented, thereby saving more lives.
The Government of Liberia announced over the weekend that it was instituting certain measures in the fight against Ebola, including the closure of all entry points in Liberia excluding the Roberts International Airport (RIA), James Spriggs Air Field and the Bo Waterside in Bomi County.
At the same time, Madam Wiah has called on the Government to consider introducing an insurance scheme for health workers, especially those who are providing services to Ebola patients at various clinics and hospitals in the country.
She believes that doing so will prevent the health workers from abandoning Ebola sufferers and their areas of assignment.
According to Madam Wiah, medical practitioners are abandoning health posts and Ebola patients because most of them, if not all, are not insured, adding that everything must be done to motivate them to stay on the job without fear.
