KONGBA, August 4 (LINA) -The Liberia National Red Cross Society (LNRCS) on Monday deployed 50 volunteers in Bopolu and Kongba Districts in Gbarpolu County to carry out awareness on prevention of the Ebola disease.

Making the disclosure to the Liberia News Agency (LINA), LNRCS Field Officer in the county, Mr. Seth Tarweh, said the volunteers were recently trained by the organization to create awareness about the deadly Ebola virus in the country.

He indicated that 30 of the volunteers are being deployed in Bopolu District and 20 in Kongba District.

Tarweh said the volunteers will cover all towns and villages in the two districts to adequately inform residents on the danger posed by the Ebola disease.

He said besides the two districts, the LNRCS has planned to take the Ebola awareness campaign to other towns and villages to ensure that the message goes far and wide.

He then appealed to residents of the county to cooperate with the LNRCS volunteers and health workers because this is one way the virus will be prevented from spreading.
