ROBERTSPORT, August 5 (LINA) – The chairman of the ruling Unity Party, Cllr. Varney Sherman, has donated an ambulance, a motorbike and six loudspeakers to the Grand Cape Mount County Health Team to enhance the fight against the spread of the deadly Ebola virus.

The items were turned over Monday by Cllr. Sherman to the county administration at a program held in Bo Waterside in Tewor District, straddling the border with Sierra Leone, also suffering an Ebola outbreak.

Cllr. Sherman said the donation was intended to help empower the county health team in its effort to stop the Ebola disease from ravishing the Liberian people.

He noted that bringing the Ebola virus under control should be the collective responsibility of every Liberian and not just the government.

Sherman said the donation was his initial contribution towards the fight against the deadly Ebola disease that has spread to seven counties in the country, including Grand Cape Mount.

Receiving the items, County Superintendent Imam Mohammed A. Paasewe expressed appreciation to Cllr. Sherman for the gesture which, he said, would help save many lives.

He later turned them over to the county health team.
