The Liberia News Agency Maryland and Grand Kru Correspondent, who traveled to the region Wednesday, said the bad condition of the Tappita-Ganta road in Nimba County, has rendered it virtually impassable.
Correspondent John Bropleh said this situation has also resulted to hike in the transportation fare from Monrovia to Harper from L$3,500 to L$4,000 for one way travel.
He noted that commercial drivers were not adhering to Government’s warning not to raise transport fares as a result of the recent measure requiring reduction of the number of occupants in vehicles to cut Ebola risks.
Meanwhile, the LINA Correspondent has observed that testing of passengers’ temperature as a result of the Ebola virus has intensified at a government testing center established in Ganta, Nimba County.
