HARPER, August 26 (LINA) -The J.J Dossen Hospital in Harper, the provincial capital of Maryland County, lacks drugs and medical equipment to treat patients, according to Maryland County acting Superintendent Nathaniel Toe.

The hospital, which is also without a medical doctor, does not have any equipment to combat the Ebola virus in case of an outbreak, he noted.
Disclosing this in an interview with the Liberia News Agency at the weekend, acting Superintendent Toe said this situation poses a serious threat to the lives of residents of the county.

The J.J. Dossen Hospital also serves as a referral facility for neighboring Grand Kru and River Gee counties.

He is, meanwhile, calling on the Health Ministry to act immediately and make available all basic medical equipment needed to treat patients at the hospital, especially those with symptoms of Ebola.
