“If never in the past, this is the time for us to unite as one government to deliver the promises to our people,” President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has said.
Delivering her 2015 Annual Message to the 53rd National Legislature Monday, she emphasize that there is absolutely no room for blame shifting, and as such, officials must unite in delivering the goods that promote peace and reconciliation.
She encouraged a united front aimed at increasing revenues, restoring basic services, removing the heavy debt burdens, mobilizing foreign investment, rebuilding infrastructures and restoring lost hope.
The president told her officials that need to do self-searching in determining whether commitments and vows made in 2006 have been fulfilled cannot be overemphasized, and that the call to serve country and people is paramount.
