SANNIQUELLIE, February 10 (LINA) - Nimba County Attorney, Cllr. Hector Quoigoa, has called on the Bureau of Immigration Nimba Contingent to strengthen border security to prevent the spread of the Ebola virus into Liberia from neighboring countries.

Cllr. Quoigoa said while it is true that Nimba has gone nearly a month without report of new cases of the virus, he sees the new outbreak in neighboring Guinea as a threat to the well-being of county.

His comment comes as a result of confirmed health reports emanating from Guinea by the County Health Team that there is fresh outbreak of the virus in the Guinean City of Lorla, close to the Liberian border.

He made the statement at the official opening of the 8th Judicial Circuit Court in Sanniquellie Monday.
“It is about time that we avoid the recurrence of the virus anywhere in the county by tightening health and other security measures at our border points,” Quoigoa noted.
