This was disclosed by the Director of Research at the LMDC, Dr. Moses Pewee, during the county’s weekly Ebola Taskforce meeting held at the administration building in Kakata over the weekend.

Pewee noted that the training will be conducted in two phases with River Gee, Grand Gedeh, Margibi, Montserado, Bomi, Gbapolu and Cape Mount Counties comprising the first group, while group two comprises Grand Bassa, River Cess, Sinoe, Bong, Nimba, Lofa, Grand Kru and Maryland Counties.

He also stated that the training is for health workers to have an insight about IPC “because they are the ones who receive the brunt of infection as with the outbreak of the Ebola Virus Disease, EVD, in Liberia.” 

The World Health Organization will provide the funding for the two IPC training for the health workers, he added.
