“Parents should not permit their children to leave their homes when they have fever, elevated temperatures or a simple symptom of illness as an important step in helping schools prevent the spread of Ebola,” Fahnbulleh said.
 
She made the statement at the Ministry of Information daily Ebola press conference held at the ministry in Monrovia on Wednesday.
 
Fahnbulleh noted that parents stand as key partners in ensuring safety at schools, and as such, they should ensure that the health of their children is monitored daily to ensure the protection of the larger society.
 
She also wants parents to regularly monitor the means of transportation via which children are taken to and from school campuses.
 
Fahnbulleh then called on the Ministry of Education to be actively involved in monitoring school campuses, while at the same time enforcing compliance with preventive measures.
 
“Let us all work to ensure that our schools are ready to begin teaching our children, it does not matter what date, our children are passionate about going back to learn and we must support them,” she added.
