MONROVIA, February 20 (LINA) - The House of Representatives (HOR) has paid tribute to fallen Liberian lawyer Michael Allison for his invaluable services to the state, especially the oil sector.

Speaking to reporters Thursday shortly after session, the Acting Director of Press and Public Affairs of the House of Representatives, Nelson Garr, disclosed that members of the House are also calling for speedy investigation into the cause of Allison’s death.

According to him, the Speaker and members of the House support the conduct of an autopsy by any certified pathologist(s) aimed at establishing the cause of Allison’s death.

Garr recalled that Allison’s consultative role in the formulation of the New Oil and Gas Law has helped to strengthen national effort in sustaining a vibrant hydro-carbon sector.

It can be recalled that on Friday, February 13, Cllr. Allison was found dead on the beach in the Sinkor area in Monrovia.

Circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be established, but the Liberia National Police has launched an investigation into the cause of death.
