(LINA) - Citizens of Sackie Town, Senjeh District in Bomi County are appealing to the government to construct a Police Depot in the town to curtail the rising crime rate in the area.

Speaking in an interview with the Liberia News Agency in the town on Thursday, spokesperson Momo Sackie said residents of Sackie Town have been victims of criminal acts over the years, especially during the night.

According to him, the depot and the presence of officers of the Liberia National Police on a daily basis will help minimize criminal activities in Sackie Town and nearby communities.

He urged the county authority to prevail on the central government to urgently construct a police depot in the town and assign police officers there to ensure that the citizens live in peace and security.
