Marcus Dowee explained that the CBE assists community dwellers to manage their garbage to prevent the outbreak of diseases, noting that this has helped to reduce malaria in most communities in which the CBE has been operating in recent times.
Dowee made the statement Tuesday at the start of a four-day basic training in Waste Collection with Business Aspects for Sustainable Solid Waste Management and Sanitation organized by the MCC for waste collectors and supervisors including managers of CBE held at the Monrovia City Hall.
He noted that garbage management and waste collection providers are new models in Liberia, but they are effective and efficient ways of maintaining clean cities and countries around the world.
He called on Liberians to embrace this concept to keep Liberia and its cities clean from garbage, noting that a clean environment produces healthy people.
