The projects include the Bopolu City Presidential Guest House, Palaver Hut, Water Tower, Generator House and the Gbarma Administration Building, all valued at over US$284,000.

The company entered into an agreement with the county administration, to implement and complete these projects by June 30, 2013, but abandoned them after receiving part payment of the amount.

In his testimony Wednesday, before the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Court in Bopolu City, Superintendent Allen Gbowee said the County Administration was in June2012 mandated by the Gbarpolu County Sitting (GCS) to undertake these projects for which the services of the UCS was hired.

He disclosed that the UCS was given US$100,000 for the Bopolu projects and US$30,000 for the Gbarma Administration Building project as advance payment, but abandoned same after receiving the money.

During Wednesday’s hearing, the petitioner was represented by Gbarpolu County Attorney Stephen P. Kerwilliams and two other lawyers, while Respondent Jallah Mends-Cole was represented by the David A.B. Jallah Law Firm.

Meanwhile, the case continues on Thursday, March 20, at the same venue, with lawyers of both parties expected to advance legal arguments.
