The Representatives had invited Sannoh and Massaquoi to explain the recent violent incident between officers of the Liberia National Police and motorcyclists in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.
The appearance of Sannoh and Massaquoi was part of the House’s Agenda on Thursday, but the Chief Clerk of the House, Mildred Sayon, informed the lawmakers that the two men sent an excuse that they were unable to show up because Sannoh had traveled out of the country.
However, Plenary agreed to reschedule the appearance of the two senior security officials to Tuesday or Thursday next week.
Plenary’s decision comes following the reading of a letter from Minister Sannoh to Speaker J. Alexander Tyler informing the House about the incident that occurred on April 16 in Paynesville which resulted in the death of one Alfred Tarnue, Jr. and the destruction of properties.
