development of the nation upon the departure of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).

Senator Jallah emphasized that peace and stability are critical for the transformation of post-war Liberia, and challenged educated Liberians to ensure that no situation would undermine the peace gains made over the years.

Jallah proffered the challenge Sunday when the Divinity College of the African Methodist Episcopal Zion University (AMEU) honored former graduates of the university who have obtained top leadership positions in Liberia.
The honoring program was held at the Brown Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church in Monrovia.

He cautioned Liberians not to engage in any form of conflict when UNMIL departs the country, noting that development cannot be take place in the absence of a peaceful environment.

Earlier, the Dean of the Divinity College of the AMEU, Emmanuel Johnson, called on Liberian lawmakers to prioritize the growth and development of Liberia and its people.

Dean Johnson noted that lawmakers who are direct representatives of the people should be concerned about the welfare and status of the people who elected them to power, rather than put their own interests above those of the people.

Senate; James W. Tornonlah, Senator of Margibi County; Garrison
Yealue, Representative of Nimba County; Clarence Massaquoi, Representative of Lofa County and Alfred G. Koiwood, Representative of Gbarpolu County.
